It was one of those nights, the kind of night where he didn't want to be around too many people, but at the same time he couldn't stand the quiet of sitting alone in his flat. So, here he was sitting at the bar of the most popular club in Treshire, sipping on a Guinness and listening to music that was barely audible over the chatter of the people in the club. The lights were low to create a "mood" setting, what mood it was supposed to be Lyall had no idea, but he appreciated the darker atmosphere over the clubs that thought blinding people with laser lights was fun. The smell of alcohol and cigarettes permeated the air along with the slight scent of blood. Normally the scent of blood gets a bit heavier as the evening progresses and the vampires become more active.

Lyall sighed, set his glass down on the bar top, and raised his hand to itch the black wolf ears protruding from his head which caused his long tail to wag ever so slightly. He hated when that happened, so he stopped itching and placed his hands on his lap, his ears laying down in embarrassment. He glanced around to see if anyone had noticed and thankfully everyone seemed to be preoccupied with the friends that they came here with. So he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and adjusted his tie, he needed to relax and stop being so paranoid. He opened his hazel eyes and breathed out slowly, grabbed his glass and downed the rest of his drink. Lyall flagged down the bartender and ordered another Guinness, it's not like he was going to be leaving anytime soon anyways.

As he waited for his drink he pulled his cellphone out of his vest pocket and flipped through the main pages until he got to his calendar. He didn't have much time, he only had a couple of days until his next "episode". As the bartender slid the Guinness over to Lyall, he grabbed it without looking up and brought it up to his lips. " I have to start the preparations soon.", he said and then took a quick swig of his drink before setting it back down on the countertop...

Astrid had been at the club for a few hours now. She was waiting on a friend to come and bring her a few bags of plasma, but it didn't look like she was going to be showing up anytime soon. The vampire wasn't happy, considering she'd spent six hours getting ready for this outing, in hopes that she and her friend would have a good time after the exchange was over. She momentarily glanced at her watch and sighed dramatically, looking around the room. It was entirely possible that she'd just...hadn't...seen Astrid yet? Gracefully, and with a little extra bounce, she got up from her table and began walking around throngs of people. Almost immediately her table was taken, and the woman couldn't help but pout about it. She was PLANNING on going straight back after some recon had been had. She passed the bar and all of its patrons, glancing far too quickly to actually pick out any faces.

It was then the back pocket of her black studded jeans began to vibrate, and a jolt of excitement rang through the Vamp. Hopefully it was Miri, cause if it wasn't she was going to be a sour puss for the rest of the night. She was hungry, REALLY hungry, and if she didn't get that plasma...well, that would make her have to resort to real blood. From a real person. Who bled. And anyone who knew Astrid knew that was a terrible idea. Of course, the bar served blood too, mixed with ever liquor you could possibly imagine but she'd tried that once. It ended up with her stuffed in one of the VIP sections with the curtain drawn, and she'd never lived that moment down. Even now she could feel the vamps in the room mocking her. She sighed again, and turned around back towards the bar. There were a few wolf pups who started getting a little unruly, and without even noticing her distance from them, one of the guys slammed into her, thrusting her against someone at the bar. Her head connected with his shoulder, she hollered, the pup stumbled back up onto his feet and pretended like nothing happened by giving high fives to his drunken buddies.

If the woman had any kind of mean bone in her body, she probably would have yelled. Thrown a punch. Kicked him, something.. but instead she just waved him and his friends off, with a 'no worries, no worries' look, and turned to... she sniffed, another wolf? Damn, they were packed in tonight, her face full of apology. She didn't think she'd spilled his drink on him or anything, but she still felt really bad either way. "I'm sorry, oh my god, I'm so sorry!" she fretted, a little, and brought herself around so that she could look at him, the vibration of her phone completely forgotten now. She plopped her butt down on the stool directly next to him, frantically waving down the bartender so that she could order him another drink as an apology. Well, more of an apology.. she'd already said it a bunch of times already. "Are you okay? Is there anything I can do?"

He flinched as someone slammed into him from behind, his Guinness left his hand as he grabbed the counter to steady the stool he was sitting on, and he watched as it fell to the ground. Broken glass scattered across the floor under Lyall and wasted liquor spread out in a thin layer, making the floor both slippery and dangerous. He sighed and one of his ears twitched, "Just my luck, oh well..." he muttered to himself. He was about to get up and start cleaning up the mess his drink had created before someone hurt themselves by slipping on it, but was distracted by someone repeatedly apologizing at him. As he turned slightly to see who was apologizing so profusely, Lyall came face to face with a woman. Although it wasn’t exactly face to face until she had sat down on the barstool next to him, even then he still angled his head down slightly to look at her face.
Her green eyes screamed mild panic attack while her lips kept spewing out one apology after the other. Lyall couldn’t help but laugh and ended up chuckling to himself, his tail swaying in amusement. When the woman started trying to flag down the bartender to replace the drink he had spilled, Lyall tried to get her attention so that he could tell her that it wasn’t necessary for her to do so, but it was too late. He sighed again and shook his head, she was certainly an interesting character, though it was going to be hard for him to get a word in edgewise if this kept up.
When she finally asked him a direct question he was able to actually speak. “I’m fine, please don’t worry, it was just a little bump. I’m more worried about you, are you okay? A young lady such as yourself shouldn’t be jostled around like that, they were quite rude to treat you that way.” He had no patience for people who were disrespectful to others, he looked over his shoulder to take note of what the young werewolves looked like, so he could keep an eye out for them in the future. As he turned back to face the woman next to him, he caught her scent and realization set over him, she was a vampire. He didn’t have anything against vampires in particular, in fact he tended to get along with them easier than he did other werewolves. But, he just had a hard time dealing with people in general most of the time.
She seemed different from other vampires he had met previously, usually vampires had kind of gloomy personalities, but this woman had a rather energetic demeanor. She was kind of odd, but he appreciated it. “By the way miss, you really didn’t have to get me another drink, it wasn’t your fault that I spilled it in the first place. Let me get you a drink in return, I wouldn’t feel right if I just let you get me a drink.”. He held out his hand and introduced himself, “My name is Lyall, what might your name be?”

Astrid couldn't help herself, her personality wouldn't allow her to stop apologizing. He chuckled at her, and she took that as a good sign. Most Were's she knew weren't too fond of Vampires, and even less fans of them talking to them. This vamp, however, didn't really care about the rules and she talked to whoever she wanted to whenever she pleased. That didn't mean she wasn't still afraid, but nonetheless she did it anyway. Shrugging lightly, she gestured to the rowdy group of wolves, and made a face to kind of say "what can you do?". It was the truth, wherever you went there was always going to be that one group of people who were just so unaware of the people around them that someone ended up getting thrown across the room. "I..I'm okay, thank you for asking though! Us vamps are tougher than that." She giggled "I'm just lucky I didn't go flying." She gave a thumbs up, and smiled, her fangs protruding from her lips. She immediately closed her mouth, and pursed them closed. They were sharp and pointy, because she was so hungry.

She silently wished her friend would just show up already, if she had to get a mixed drink from the bar there really was no telling what the hell might happen. And the last thing she wanted to do was embarrass herself in front of this man. "I'm Astrid, and you?" She said, and thrust her hand out to shake his. Just then the bartender came around with a new glass of beer for him, and Astrid looked...well, happy. She slid a ten across the bar, not knowing if thats how much it cost or not, and shook her head. "Nah, I don't need anything, but thanks for offering! I'm actually waiting on a friend... but I don't think she's gonna show up anytime soon." A small sigh, and a drop of her head while she pouted slightly. Her throat was burning, the feeling in her belly getting worse than it had been before. Everything was on fire, but the Vamp knew how to keep herself cool. It wasn't like she'd never gone hungry before, but the difference between her and other vamps was she didn't actually LIKE to feed. She didn't think the whole hunter/prey thing was cool. In fact, she thought it was stupid as hell.

The phone she'd forgotten in her back pocket buzzed with a notification message, and she figured maybe she'd left a voicemail, or even a text to let her know she was here. Holding up a finger to indicate to wait just a second, she fetched it out and tapped her finger on the screen a few times, and sagged. It wasn't her friend, but someone else she DIDN'T want to hear from. Instead of letting her face show her distaste, she arched her lips into another (fangless this time) smile, and tucked a piece of her short black hair behind her ear. "So, what are you doin here? Just relaxing, chilling, waiting on someone? Oh, I'm not keeping you from anything am I?" Eyes widened, and she pushed herself back a little, to excuse herself if he did, indeed, happened to waiting on someone as she had.
